Job Summary

This position is responsible for developing creative and cost-effective solutions for a wide range of environmental issues. The successful applicant will lead projects required to implement the company's environmental strategy, advocacy, policy development, compliance programs, and underlying regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a sound overall knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations and the utility industry. They will be able to interface with all levels of management and represented personnel, manage vendors, and communicate effectively with internal and external customers, consultants, and regulators.

Responsibilities include providing environmental support to the company's manufactured gas plant (MGP) program, developing and implementing an overall environmental strategy for projects, overseeing outside environmental consultant soil, groundwater, soil vapor, and sediment investigation development and execution, and leading regulatory communications with agencies.

The successful applicant will also collaborate with other remediation team members in identifying opportunities to move sites forward, support substation environmental investigation and remediation during retirement or upgrades, and manage activities and company's position to support local, state, and federal legislative and regulatory initiatives.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 2-5 years of relevant engineering experience. Preferred qualifications include 2+ years of environmental remediation experience, OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour certification, project or task management experience, and experience with site remediation under WDNR NR 700 and USEPA CERCLA regulations.

The company offers a competitive salary range of $74,692.28 to $128,844.04, annual incentive plan, wellness incentive, medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) with a company match, tuition reimbursement, life insurance benefits, paid vacation and holidays, and more.
