Peer Recovery Advocate

Seventy Times Seven seeks a Peer Recovery Specialist to join our team in supporting individuals in their recovery journey.
About the RoleThis is a dynamic position that requires a strong belief in recovery, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients, management, and peers.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and address obstacles to accessing services and supports, working collaboratively with participants and their Individual Recovery Management Team.
- Ensure appropriate discharge plans are in place and well understood by clients.
- Provide support to implement discharge plans, ensuring necessary resources are available.
- Promote connections to mutual self-help groups when beneficial.
- Offer peer support to empower recovering individuals, focusing on their needs, goals, and objectives.
- Support peers in identifying areas for professional support and services, communicating these needs to clinical staff.
- Transport clients to relevant referral sources or safe environments as needed.
- Coach clients on independent use of community resources.
- Maintain contact via phone and/or email to provide ongoing support, ensuring successful transitions and re-engagement support if required.
- Deliver recovery education across various stages of the recovery journey, from pre-recovery engagement to sustained recovery maintenance.
- Foster relationships with community groups and agencies in partnership with other Seventy Times Seven employees.
- Complete documentation, reports, and data capture in accordance with Residential Housing processes.
- Refer patients to community services as necessary, documenting referrals and outcomes.
- A personal commitment to recovery.
- Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily.
- Effective communication skills and ability to interact positively with personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, and the general public.
- High energy level, flexibility, interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate with colleagues.
- Capacity to engage people based on their individual needs.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain professional boundaries and respect at all times.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Proficiency in English, with the ability to read, understand, and speak fluently.
- Valid driver's license.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Maryland Peer Certification required.
- CPR/AED and de-escalation skills.
- Pre-employment drug screen.
- Connecticut Community for Recovery (CCAR) Training required.
Demonstrated ability to utilize MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), with the capacity to learn in-house software.
The estimated salary for this position is $18-$22 per hour, depending on experience and location.
