Director of PCB Sourcing Strategy

Talent Software Services is seeking a seasoned Senior Manager, PCB/ODM Sourcing for a direct placement position in San Diego, CA.
Position OverviewWe are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional to lead our PCB and ODM procurement team. As the go-to person for implementing standard procurement processes, strategic sourcing, and supply chain design, you will be pivotal in developing and driving sourcing strategies for PCB products that meet the demands of our high-performance computing solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Strategy Development: Formulate and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for PCB components tailored for HPC systems, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish strong relationships with key component and ODM suppliers. Negotiate contracts and terms to secure competitive pricing and favorable delivery schedules.
- Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to stay abreast of trends, technologies, and pricing in the AI/HPC sector, providing insights to inform sourcing decisions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and product management teams to understand PCB/board requirements and ensure timely sourcing of components.
- Cost Optimization: Proactively drive cost reduction and process improvement within the sourcing function, ensuring maximum value for the organization.
- Risk Management: Develop risk mitigation strategies related to supply chain disruptions, material shortages, and market volatility.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in sourcing or procurement, with a focus on PCB technologies for HPC or related industries.
- A strong understanding of PCB products, including Machine Learning, Networking, and Server PCB designs and various business models to manufacture boards with ODM partners.
- A proven track record of successful supplier negotiation and contract management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of influencing partners and leadership at all levels.
$120,000 - $160,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
