Lead Dental Assistant: Endodontics Specialist

The Dental Assistant will provide support to the residents, faculty, and students in the Department of Endodontics at the School of Dentistry. The primary responsibilities will include assisting with routine and complex surgical dental procedures, preparing chairs or surgical rooms for procedures, welcoming and seating patients, performing 4-handed dentistry, and maintaining and disinfecting operatories.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with various dental procedures, including preparing chairs and surgical rooms
* Welcome and seat patients, perform 4-handed dentistry, and maintain and disinfect operatories
* Support during medical emergencies, including monitoring emergency drug and oxygen supplies, and infection control and safety protocols
* Take x-rays using digital imaging and upload x-rays and other patient-related data into axium
* Pour and trim dental impressions, order and maintain supplies, troubleshoot dental equipment and instruments, and maintain logs for equipment maintenance and safety
* Assist with the sterilization process, fill in at the front desk when needed, and perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
* At least 1 year of experience as a Dental Assistant, including some experience with endodontic procedures
* Dental Assisting training and certificate from an accredited school
* Dental Radiology Certification from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
* CPR Certification
* Ability to obtain PA Child Abuse Clearances
