Our ideal candidate will participate in all aspects of the bid/estimating process, from reviewing plans and specs to soliciting and negotiating prices from contractors/suppliers. This role involves quantity take-off, pricing, scoping, and bidding of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pricing and estimating of electrical projects with high accuracy and efficiency.

  • Developing and documenting assumptions during conceptual estimating activities.

  • Communicating with architects and consultants to clarify scope of work, materials, and schedule requirements.

  • Conducting reviews of milestone documents to identify changes in work scope and develop pricing opportunities.

  • Participating in internal estimate review processes and providing expert feedback.

  • Assisting with final assembly of estimates for presentation to clients.

  • Soliciting trade partners during the bidding process and analyzing their proposals.

  • Collecting and organizing bid information for input into historical cost databases.

  • Assisting field operations with change order pricing and maintaining knowledge of MEP codes.

  • Preparing scopes of work for subcontracts and coordinating with architectural, structural, and mechanical estimators.

  • Preparing budget comparisons between current and previous estimates.

  • Utilizing current technology to enhance services on both hard bid and negotiated projects.

  • Scheduling and meeting with trade partners during face-to-face scope meetings.

  • Participating in schedule preparation and evaluation processes with trade partner employees.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-5 years of electrical estimating experience or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering.

  • General knowledge of construction principles and processes.

  • Familiarity with different contractual delivery methods, including negotiated bids, hard bids, and GMP processes.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and others.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated behaviors consistent with core values and a 'value-added' approach to preconstruction.

  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong work ethic and core values.

Benefits:

Competitive salary range: $85,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on experience.
