Job Summary:

As a Medical Assistant, you will be involved in both administrative and clinical duties, requiring strong attention to detail, professionalism, and excellent customer service skills.

About the Job:

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at ECMPF. The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as one of the following: completion of a Medical Assistant Program, certification/registration as an MA, or 5+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant. Prior experience working in a medical facility is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Medical Assistant, your primary duties will include greeting patients, preparing them for physician examinations, maintaining accurate records, and providing oversight to vaccine programs. You will also be responsible for checking and restocking exam rooms, reporting malfunctioning equipment, and cleaning and sterilizing instruments. Additionally, you will assist physicians with office surgical procedures, perform EKG and Spirometry tests as ordered, and report lab results to patients. You will also answer pharmacy requests for prescription refills, prepare specimens for testing, and instruct patients on how to collect sterile urine specimens. On a monthly basis, you will check all medications and dispose of expired ones appropriately. You may be required to obtain precertifications for tests, procedures, treatments, medications, and hospitalizations as needed. Furthermore, you will schedule and arrange referrals and outside testing for patients as directed by physicians. You will maintain a neat and organized workspace, adhere to CLIA regulations, and maintain confidentiality and HIPPA requirements.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you must be comfortable working in a fast-paced confidential medical environment, be team-oriented, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. You should also have knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish and maintain a safe work environment. Lifting physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting, standing or sitting for prolonged periods, and operating office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination are also essential. Reliable transportation and the ability to float to other offices when needed are also necessary. Strong computer and keyboarding skills are a must.

Salary:

The estimated salary for this role is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, based on national averages for Medical Assistants in the United States.
