Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Breastfeeding Support Specialist to join our team at Tufts Medical Center. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate individual to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients, staff, and healthcare providers.

About the Role

This position plays a critical role in providing expert breastfeeding support and education to patients, staff, and healthcare providers as a clinical resource. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing patient care needs, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and engaging in quality improvement projects while supporting evidence-based practices in lactation.

Responsibilities
  • Serves as a clinical resource, consultant, and role model for staff providing breastfeeding support and education.
  • Participates in the development of new policies and guidelines that align with the strategic vision of TMC.
  • Provides breastfeeding support and expertise as needed in all departments.
  • Uses excellent clinical skills to provide ongoing assessment and evaluation of breastfeeding support and education awareness.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
  • A Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Two (2) years of experience as a RN Lactation Consultant
  • Current Certification as a Lactation Consultant
