Job Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for assessing, treating, and caring for residents with breathing disorders. This role assumes responsibility for all respiratory care modalities, including initiating and conducting therapeutic procedures, selecting, assembling, checking, and operating equipment.

Responsibilities:

* Ensures staff compliance with facility and regulatory agencies guidelines
* Monitors outcomes of various respiratory care procedures
* Establishes and maintains respiratory equipment par-level and required maintenance records
* Troubleshoots equipment malfunction
* Conducts quality assurance audits
* Conducts quality control monitoring
* Aides in the development and implementation of quality improvement programs
* Performs random resident care compliance audits
* Participates in on-going educational programs to enhance clinical competency for self and staff
* Provides routine clinical care including non-invasive ventilator checks, tracheostomy care, suctioning, resident evaluations, care plan development, respiratory medication delivery, supply changes and equipment management.

Requirements:

* Must be a certified Respiratory Therapist
* Completion of a two year accredited Respiratory Program
