Nurse Clinician IV: Skilled Clinical Leader

As a skilled clinical leader, you will possess strong knowledge and expertise in nursing practice, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be responsible for assessing patients, identifying their needs, and developing individualized care plans to meet those needs. You will also be responsible for providing direct patient care, teaching patients and families about health promotion and disease prevention, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless delivery of care.
In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will play a key leadership role on your unit, working closely with colleagues to achieve departmental goals and objectives. This may include participating in quality improvement initiatives, mentoring new staff members, and serving on committees to improve patient outcomes.

Job Summary:
Nurse Clinicians at UTMB provide comprehensive care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. They serve as leaders and mentors, promoting excellence in patient care and supporting the development of other nurses.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' physical and emotional needs
- Develop individualized care plans to meet patients' needs
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications and treatments
- Teach patients and families about health promotion and disease prevention
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless delivery of care
- Mentor new staff members and participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Serve on committees to improve patient outcomes
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- RN license or valid temporary permit to practice in Texas
- Four years of clinical RN experience
- Approved specialty certification
