Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join our team at Ballantyne Strong. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing maintenance on cinema projection equipment, digital signage, sound systems, servers, and power supplies. You will also provide demand service for customers, determine and execute a support plan, and test electronic assemblies and components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance on cinema projection equipment, digital signage, sound systems, servers, and power supplies
  • Provide demand service for customers; determines and executes a support plan
  • Test electronic assemblies and components
  • Examine equipment and assemblies for defects and replace defective components
  • Repair equipment and perform field testing
  • Direct investigation of customer complaints regarding quality, tolerances, specifications, and delivered condition of products
  • Record, analyze, and inform appropriate personnel of production quality, and sales departments of status and disposition of customer complaints and claims
  • Install electronic or digital equipment and test
  • Record activities in Field Point daily, including work description, expenses, hours, labor, and travel
  • Perform phone and remote support for customers when a resolution can be achieved through these methods
Requirements
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with digital cinema equipment is highly preferred
  • Experience with electronics related to the Pro-AV market
  • Experience with computer and networking concepts and architecture
  • Must be comfortable completing work using ladders
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Exceptional customer service skills required
  • This position requires a valid, state-issued driver's license
  • This position requires the ability to stand, sit, squat, and bend for a period of time
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Comfortable working in a high-stress, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Self-starter who can find and resolve issues as they are identified
  • Ability to successfully interface with a wide range of personnel within the organization
