Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, based on industry standards and location.

Job Description

In this role as Strategic Government Affairs Director, you will assist in the development and implementation of LG's policy and regulatory agenda at the federal level. You will work closely with internal teams to support business objectives and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and executing strategies to advance company interests with U.S. regulatory agencies and state governments;
  • Collaborating with Regulatory & Environmental Affairs and Compliance teams to support business objectives;
  • Maintaining relationships with federal regulatory agencies and state officials where LG has major operations;
  • Identifying opportunities to advocate legislation through trade associations or directly;

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 10-15 years' experience in public and/or private sectors – corporate, trade association, government, NGO;
  • An accomplished professional track record of implementing successful government relations programs for a large multinational corporation, trade association, or NGO;
  • Demonstrated program success in achieving positive regulatory results;
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills;
  • A strong ability to prioritize work, meet tight deadlines, and maintain flexibility with changing strategic priorities;
  • Strong project and budget management expertise, with superb attention to detail;
  • Knowledge of batteries, electric vehicles, and renewable energy is a plus;
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
