Histology Specialist

As a Histology Technologist at Stillwater Medical, you will be responsible for processing tissue specimens, creating tissue blocks, and preparing slides for microscopic examination by the pathologist.

• Document tissue specimens received from endoscopy
• Process tissue and create tissue blocks
• Prepare and stain slides of patient tissue for microscopic examination

• Associate degree in medical laboratory technology or equivalent from an accredited college or university
• Completion of an approved histotechnology training program or at least 3 months of documented laboratory training/experience in histology
• Adequate perception of sounds or adequate hearing with corrections
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
• Coordination and motor skills required for obtaining blood specimens from patients following OSHA guidelines
