Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care to children and adolescents aged 6-18 on an inpatient Adolescent Behavioral Unit. You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to deliver medication administration and education, daily documentation of patient care, and managing/monitoring behaviors throughout the unit.

As a key member of the patient care team, you will also participate in and lead education groups, promoting positive outcomes for patients and their families. Your ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and colleagues will be crucial in ensuring seamless care delivery.

Requirements:

  • An Associates Degree in Nursing or higher is required; a valid State of Maine RN license is also necessary.
  • A minimum of 1 year of previous nursing experience is required, with 1-3 years of experience working with adults preferred.
  • CPI Trained certification is essential.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
  • You must be able to communicate effectively at various levels, including with patients, families, providers, and coworkers.
  • In stressful situations, you should be able to manage stress appropriately and set strong professional boundaries.
  • Dedicated team players with self-directed abilities and the capacity to stay busy during downtime are highly valued.
