About the Role:

The Bureau of Legislative Research is accepting applications for full-time employees for temporary legislative proofreading services on site in the Statutory Review Section during the upcoming regular session of the General Assembly. As a Temporary Legislative Proofreader, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of legislative documents. Key Accountabilities:
  • Assist in reviewing bills, amendments, and acts of the General Assembly, performing technical edits as assigned.
  • Regular contact and collaboration with reviewing attorneys, editors, and administrative staff is required.
  • Periodic work outside of normal office hours may be required.


What We Offer:

A competitive estimated salary range of $32,405 - $51,686 per annum, commensurate with experience, is offered for this role. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, develop new skills, and contribute to the success of our organization.

Requirements:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in English, journalism, communication, or a related field is required. Related work experience in publication or editing plus an associate's degree may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree. Applicants must possess excellent knowledge of grammar and punctuation rules and be able to function effectively as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment. Excellent reading, writing, and communication skills are essential.
