Job Summary

As a Mental Health Technician with Universal Health Services, you will play a vital role in the direct care and management of children, adolescents, and adults. Your primary responsibilities will include providing direct supervision, safety, and crisis management for our patient/resident population.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct supervision of patients/residents to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Maintain a safe environment within the facility by monitoring patients/residents for potentially unsafe behaviors.
  • Prevent and manage crisis situations using hospital-approved methods.
  • Role model appropriate behaviors, attitudes, social skills, and self-care.
  • Complete all documentation as required.
  • Adhere to facility policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required; Advanced degree preferred but not required.
  • Current Texas driver's license or valid state ID.
  • One year experience in healthcare or current enrollment in a professional RN, LVN, or licensed therapist program, preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • 80%-90% of the time, the staff is standing, walking, kneeling, or reaching while working with patients/residents.
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and physical restraint of patients/residents.
  • Ability to perform CPR/CPI.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts.
  • Emotional stability necessary to perform essential functions.
  • Vision and hearing sufficient to perform essential functions.
  • Ability to speak clearly and write legibly.
