Certified Anesthesia Specialist

As a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at Kaiser Permanente, you will administer general and regional anesthesia for various surgical, obstetrical, and other procedures. You will work under the medical supervision of an Anesthesiologist and provide care to patients of different age groups, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Your responsibilities will include evaluating patients pre-operatively, selecting anesthetic agents, and monitoring patients' post-operative conditions. You will also collaborate with surgeons and anesthesiologists to ensure safe and effective anesthesia care. Additionally, you will maintain accurate records, manage controlled substances, and participate in education and staff development. Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients pre-operatively and select anesthetic agents based on their medical history and condition.
- Administer general and regional anesthesia for various procedures, including surgical, obstetrical, and other medical procedures.
- Monitor patients' post-operative conditions and take necessary actions to maintain stability.
- Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesiologists to ensure safe and effective anesthesia care.
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and manage controlled substances according to departmental guidelines.
- Participate in education and staff development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an educational program in Nurse Anesthesia accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs and Schools.
- Registered Nurse License (California) and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (California) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support certifications.
- Experience in anesthesia for major procedures involving extensive monitoring and fluid, blood, and electrolyte replacement for various age groups.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in anesthesia for complex procedures, such as cardiac surgery or neurosurgery.
- Knowledge of anesthesia equipment and supplies, as well as productivity and job maturity.
