Job Summary

The Human Resources Manager will oversee all Human Resource activities for an assigned location(s) or functional area, implementing HR strategies, analyzing business information, and leading HR and business initiatives. This position will engage in employee relations issues, partner with Talent Acquisition on staffing and selection, oversee community outreach, support employee development activities, and manage programs, policies, and procedures in support of the company's culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with local leadership on HR decisions and ensure the delivery of HR processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with all HR functions, including Compensation, Compliance, Capabilities, Leaves, Legal, Talent Acquisition, HRIS, Benefits, and Labor team as applicable.
  • Ensure assigned location(s) or functional area complies with all federal, state, and local laws governing employment.
  • Evaluate current and potential HR issues or needs and deliver strategic responses.
  • Partner with local business partners on development of workforce plans and/or staffing needs and support.
  • Partner with the TA team on staffing strategies, staffing calls, and hiring events if appropriate.
  • Engage in HR Workstream projects.
  • Coordinate and engage in community outreach, employee engagement, etc.
  • Mediate difficult employee relations issues and/or other interactions as a neutral party.
  • Balance conflicting points of view, function effectively under pressure, and demonstrate discretion, integrity, and fair-mindedness.
  • Lead Talent Management, Employee/Leadership Development training, Succession Planning, etc. for assigned location(s) or functional area.
  • Manage the mid-year and annual Performance Evaluation and annual Compensation process for assigned location(s) or functional area.
  • Communicate benefit-related changes and assist employees with questions regarding benefits.
  • Manage Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) in collaboration with the Compliance and TA teams by conducting statistical analysis, documenting progress in the AAP, supporting recruiting efforts, and providing data for OFCCP audits.
  • Measure HR performance using the HR Scorecard and share information with leadership for assigned location(s) or functional areas to celebrate wins and/or address concerns.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with all HR functions, including Compensation, Compliance, Talent Acquisition, HRIS, Benefits, etc.
  • Assist assigned location(s) or functional area leadership with budget support as needed.
  • Maintain positive employee relations in a union environment as appropriate.
  • Manage an HR team member(s) as applicable.
  • Other projects or duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Required Skills and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field, 6 plus years of HR experience, and 3 plus years of people leadership experience or HS Diploma/GED.
    • 9 plus years of HR experience and 4 plus years of people leadership experience.
    • Experience in Employee Relations, Staffing, Talent Management, Change Management, Performance Management, Labor/Union Relations, EEO/AAP, and Regulatory Compliance.
    • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal laws regarding employment and wage and hour requirements.
    • Experience solving complex problems by leveraging business and HR knowledge.
    • Customer service mindset.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with all levels of an organization.
    • Excellent follow-up and follow-through skills.
    • High sense of urgency.
    • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.

    • Proficient with HR Information Systems, Timekeeping Systems, Applicant Tracking Systems, i.e., UltiPro, iCIMS, Kronos, etc.
    • Strong Microsoft Office skills, i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
    • Travel up to 25%.
    • This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.
  • Preferred Skills and Experience:
    • Master's degree.
    • PHR, SPHR, and/or SHRM Certification.
    • Project Management experience.
    • Experience interpreting and presenting data.
    • Union experience, including Collective Bargaining, etc.
    • Experience working for a company with transportation, i.e., DOT, JJ Keller, etc.
    • Experience working for a food and/or beverage company.
