Job Title: Advanced Electrical Engineer

General Dynamics Mission Systems is seeking an experienced Advanced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Canonburg, PA.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled Electrical Engineer with expertise in designing and developing electrical systems for undersea systems and associated support equipment. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, including circuit design, signal integrity, and PCB design.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical systems for undersea systems and associated support equipment
  • Develop and maintain schematics and other related engineering documentation
  • Define electrical system architecture, electronic assembly design, performance predictions, and external vendor support for various engineering assemblies
  • Provide electrical engineering expertise to support the integration and troubleshooting of a wide range of electronic assemblies
  • Conduct/lead non-conformance investigations and corrective actions
  • Provide electrical subject matter expertise during acceptance and qualification testing of electronic assemblies
  • Participate in system level testing, in water events, and associated missions as needed
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, including circuit design, signal integrity, and PCB design
  • Strong knowledge of common communication interfaces such as Ethernet, RS-485, USB, CAN bus, LVDS, and protocols such as TCP and UDP
  • Experience in analog and digital circuit design, including signal integrity principles
  • Proficiency in all phases of PCB design, including creation of high-level functional and architectural diagrams, SPICE analysis, power analysis, component selection, schematic entry, and working with the PCB layout team to optimize placement, signal integrity, fitment, etc.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Experience with MATLAB programming a plus
