The salary for this occupational therapist position ranges from $80,000 to $110,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled occupational therapist to join our team as a patient partner in restoring motion and promoting overall well-being. In this role, you will maximize the quality of life and movement potential of your patients by applying evidence-based practices in prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation within a home health care setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess client needs and develop tailored plans to support engagement in occupations that enhance health, well-being, and quality of life.
  • Select and adapt appropriate occupational therapy treatment models, methods, and approaches to guide interventions and promote optimal outcomes.
  • Apply interventions to ensure safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
  • Educate clients on new ways to approach tasks, breaking them down into achievable components.
  • Conduct home assessments and advise on environmental modifications to meet client needs and capabilities.
  • Recommend adaptive equipment and provide training on its use.
  • Guide and educate family members and caregivers to support client independence.
  • Monitor progress toward long- and short-term treatment goals.
  • Document processes and collect data to inform practice decisions.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience as an occupational therapist.
  • Excellent knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices.
  • Hands-on experience with computer programs and creative media.
  • Familiarity with ADL evaluation tools, such as the Katz ADL scale and Lawton IADL scale.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations.
  • Current knowledge of treatment practices and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Professional behavior and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • A valid license to practice occupational therapy in Ohio.
