Peer Recovery Support Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Peer Recovery Support Specialist to join our team at the Helen Ross McNabb Center in Knoxville, TN. As a member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing support, education, and rehabilitation services to individuals with mental illness and/or co-occurring disorders.
Job Summary:
- Provide non-hospital facility-based services to individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis.
- Offer 1:1 counseling and recovery coaching as requested by individuals or treatment teams.
- Respond to flags, emails, and voicemails within 2 business days.
- Complete daily staff duties assigned by supervisor before the end of each shift.
- Follow a daily schedule to provide clients with an effective structure for progress.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred in a health-related field, such as counseling, psychology, social work, or three years' experience working with individuals with mental illness.
- Lived experience as a behavioral health services consumer and/or lived recovery experience required.
- Coursework and/or experience in cultural diversity, human development, etiology and treatment of mental illness, alcohol and drug abuse, physical and sexual abuse, suicide, and crisis intervention preferred.
Benefits:
- An estimated salary range of $37,000 - $45,000 per year based on experience and qualifications.
