The College of Nursing at Texas A&M University is seeking part-time clinical faculty instructors for the Bryan, TX campus. The primary responsibility for this position is the clinical education of our students in the clinical setting. This position will teach undergraduate or graduate clinical courses depending on the need of the school and the experience and qualifications of the candidate. The position is expected to have a contract beginning as early as January 2024.

The College of Nursing offers a range of programs, including a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, MSN-Family Nurse Practitioner, MSN-Nursing Education, and DNP. We are a growing school within Texas A&M University with programs located in Bryan, Texas, and Round Rock, Texas.

The College of Nursing is one of five colleges that comprise the Texas A&M Health Science Center. We educate highly qualified graduates who are equipped to address the health needs of an ever-changing population. Responsibilities include:

Clinical Faculty Track

Part-time faculty are expected to teach as their primary responsibility. Instruction in the school of nursing is complex, given the practice nature of the discipline, and includes content and clinical mastery. These expectations are broadly described as:

  • Developing new courses according to curriculum and accreditation standards.
  • Preparing course materials and examinations that are current, evaluated, and revised to improve student learning.
  • Teaching effectively in the classroom, clinical settings, and/or online environment.
  • Selecting and managing quality clinical learning experiences in a variety of settings.
  • Providing competent clinical supervision of students.
  • Evaluating student performance effectively.
  • Advising and mentoring students for academic success.
  • Maintaining posted office hours.
  • Collaborating with and mentoring faculty peers.
  • Maintaining clinical currency and relevant certifications.

Required education includes a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing degree and currently enrolled in a masters in nursing program, or a BSN degree and a master's degree in another field with appropriate credits in graduate studies in nursing. Preferred education includes a Master's of Science in Nursing. Required experience includes two or more years of recent nursing practice experience. Required registrations, certifications, and licenses include an unencumbered RN license or privilege to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas. Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include experience teaching face-to-face or online at the baccalaureate level, experience in a clinical specialty area of nursing, or experience in rural nursing or nursing care of underserved populations.
