Senior Technical Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team at Exterro Inc. This role is ideal for someone with in-depth technical accounting knowledge and a proven ability to apply complex accounting principles to real-world situations.

About the Role

The Senior Technical Accountant will provide strategic guidance on technical accounting matters, ensure compliance, and support the finance team with financial reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounting
  1. Specialize in researching various complex technical accounting pronouncements, including purchase accounting calculations and other ASUs as required.
  2. Draft memos to support the company's position in audit and create schedules that can be used in month-end close.
  3. Create quarterly compliance reporting using corporate financials and lender requirements.
  4. Support other aspects of corporate accounting as necessary.
  5. Work with India operations to improve the financial reporting process.
  • Tax
  1. Manage tax-related items (corporate tax) and work with tax preparers to complete tasks required for filing returns, providing information as requested, and assisting with submission of timely filings.
  2. Create sales tax reporting and returns, follow up on state tax notices, review compliance with State regulations to ensure compliance.
  3. Manage international tax considerations, including ideal corporate structures, transfer pricing policies, review of international tax returns, and VAT filings.
  • Equity Administration
  1. Manage and respond to various requests from individual investors as well as various investor groups.
  2. Serve as liaison between tax providers, outside legal counsel, and other third parties.
  3. Maintain the Company's cap table.
  4. Include administration of the Company's stock-based compensation programs, related valuations (if any), and accounting for such programs.
  5. Calculate and prepare financial statement disclosures for equity accounts.
  • CORPORATE RECORDS REVIEW
  1. Corporate registrations – ensuring compliance with multiple subsidiaries across multiple entities and multiple states.
  2. Maintain the Company's legal entity organization structure.
  3. Evaluate changes to debt agreements.
  4. Update memos to file.
  5. Work with CFO to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual debt compliance reports.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Professional Experience
  • Proven experience as a professional accountant and tax practitioner.
  • Strong ability to facilitate and manage the preparation and review of corporate tax returns and ensure the accurate, timely filing of all tax forms.
  • Highly motivated to improve processes and learn best practices.
  • Able to conduct complex, important work under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment.
  • Career-level professional within the field, Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience. CPA or MTAX preferred.

The estimated salary for this role is $95,000-$115,000 per year, based on skills, experience, and qualifications. Compensation may include variable pay, equity, bonus, and/or other forms of compensation.
