Job Summary

Idaho Materials & Construction, a CRH Company, is seeking a skilled Crusher Plant Operator/ Groundsperson to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for controlling production and load out of materials produced in plants, ensuring efficient working conditions of plant equipment, and performing minor servicing and maintenance or referring major problems to the supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret work schedules to determine the sequence of operations.
  • Operate plant equipment according to production schedules, using appropriate materials.
  • Monitor material operations to ensure the quality of the mix.
  • Perform basic maintenance and service on plant equipment as required.
  • Ability to weld using an arc welder or cutting torch is preferred.
  • Clean the control house and yard facility daily.
  • Enter production information into computer systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • May be subject to drug testing, medical exams, and physical agility testing.
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Locate utilities and other buried lines prior to digging.
  • Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
  • Keep time and material records.
  • Knowledge of aggregate sizes and classifications.
  • Knowledge of weight requirements of loads leaving the pit.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work Requirements
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write correspondences and memos.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory and Order processing systems; uses job-specific computer systems for ticketing and two-way radio for communications.
