About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Support Specialist to join our team. As a Clinical Equipment Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of our clinical support systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service Contract Management: Oversee service contracts across multiple ophthalmology sites, maintaining and updating records as needed.
  • Inventory Coordination: Manage inventory, update retirement records, and apply asset stickers to new or old devices.
  • Vendor Liaison: Troubleshoot networked and exam lane hardware issues by liaising with vendors and creating cases as necessary.
  • Staff Training: Provide comprehensive training on ophthalmic devices and hardware for staff at all sites.
  • Incident Management: Act as the primary point of contact for incident tickets, collaborating with IT teams to maintain device functionality.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate networked ophthalmic equipment within the clinic workflow, utilizing tools like Epic MWL, Forum, and advanced storage systems.
  • Data Retrieval: Assist tech teams in retrieving patient data across devices to address missing information.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain training documents to ensure consistent processes across sites.
  • Order Management: Resolve issues with discontinued or incorrectly billed orders, facilitating communication among techs, physicians, and billing departments.
Requirements
  • Experience as an Ophthalmic Tech or equivalent experience in medical device support.
  • Expertise in medical device troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of optometry medical/equipment terminology and functions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to maintain strong vendor relationships.
Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000 - $80,000, depending on experience.
