Nurse Residency Program: Labor and Delivery Track

ChristianaCare is seeking highly motivated and dedicated nursing professionals to join our Labor and Delivery Nurse Residency Program. This 26-week program is designed to provide a smooth transition into the L&D RN role for qualified candidates.
The program integrates educational components with preceptor-led clinical experiences in 4 areas of the Labor & Delivery unit: Labor & Delivery, Peri Op, OB High Risk, and Antenatal. Upon successful program completion, participants will be hired as a staff nurse within the Labor and Delivery unit at ChristianaCare.
Program Highlights- Accredited with distinction as a Practice Transition Program by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs
- Recognized by the ANCC Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP) as an Industry-Recognized Apprenticeship Programs (IRAP)
- Preceptor-led clinical experiences in 4 areas of the Labor & Delivery unit
- Continued residency meetings during months 6, 8, 10, and 12 to further develop as professional nurses
- Graduating from an accredited nursing school before June 2025 (BSN preferred)
- BLS required
- Less than 12 months experience from the program's start date
- Delaware or Compact State licensure as a Registered Nurse
- Submit a cover letter expressing interest in the Labor and Delivery Nurse Residency Program
- Address the cover letter to Gina Scott
- Resume
- Transcript (unofficial)
- Two clinical recommendations will be required, but not at the time of application
- Communication from the Talent Acquisition Team about specific next steps, including video interviews and clinical references
- Applications to be sent for review by residency coordinators
- Digital real-time interviews will begin in February 2025
