Transportation Operations Coordinator

Cave Creek Unified School is seeking a skilled Transportation Operations Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to support District schools and principals in their effort to foster an optimal educational environment for students. The Transportation Operations Coordinator will be responsible for monitoring SEON video, pulling and reviewing tapes, archiving and maintaining footage. The successful candidate will also communicate with each site regarding discipline recommendations to support District, schools, principals and transportation staff in efforts to foster a safe and orderly environment for students. Additionally, the Transportation Operations Coordinator will communicate with PTT provider, order and assist the Director of Transportation in maintaining mileage reports for the 100-day report. The candidate will also coordinate with local authorities in project planning for road construction. The Transportation Operations Coordinator will perform related secretarial, dispatch and computer tasks as needed for operating an efficient running Transportation Department.
Main Responsibilities:
- Schedules maintenance and maintains audio and visual SEON equipment on the district fleet.
- Communicates professionally with school personnel when recommending discipline measures.
- In the absence of the Field Trip Coordinator, will assist in daily trip scheduling and billing.
- Installation of car seats in District vehicles.
- Assist in daily route coverages/dispatching.
- Assists with coordinating evacuation measures in the event an emergency occurs.
- Operates office equipment including computers; scanner, 10 key, copy machine and two-way radio.
- Maintains PTT service.
- Attends Staff Meetings.
- Performs all duties of a school bus driver when needed.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent, and/or appropriate mechanical experience.
- Knowledge of or willing to learn appropriate record keeping management.
- Possess effective interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge of office equipment.
- Arizona Commercial Driver's License, Class "B" with a "P" and "S" Endorsements and an Arizona School Bus Driver's Certificate.
Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Salary Information:
The estimated salary for this position is $43,500-$63,500 per year, depending on experience. This estimate is based on national averages and can vary depending on location and other factors.
Work Environment:
The work environment for this position is generally moderate, with occasional exposure to noise and physical demands. The employee is required to have regular and reliable attendance and is regularly required to sit, talk and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools and/or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Supervision:
The Transportation Operations Coordinator will be supervised by the Director of Transportation.
Evaluation:
The Transportation Operations Coordinator will be evaluated at least once annually by the Director of Transportation with input from the Lead Mechanic in accordance with the policy of the Governing Board.
