Job Title: Addictions Counselor

Resources for Human Development is seeking a highly skilled Addictions Counselor to join our team at the Montgomery County Recovery Center. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive care to individuals struggling with addiction.

About the Role:

The Addictions Counselor will provide individual and group therapy to patients, complete required documentation, and work with family/supports to coordinate care. You will also be responsible for crisis intervention, aftercare planning, and facilitating specialty groups as assigned.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to patients
  • Maintain a caseload of 35+ patients
  • Complete clinical chart documentation, including treatment plans, DAP notes, and psychosocial assessments
  • Attend and present clinical case consultations, treatment plan updates, and clinical supervisions as scheduled
  • Provide crisis intervention and assist with client aftercare planning
  • Facilitate specialty groups as assigned
  • Evaluate client progress and report to funders/referral sources as requested
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's preferred in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field
  • At least 1+ years' experience in the drug and alcohol field
  • Current PA State certification or license strongly preferred
  • Completion of 8hrs of Buprenorphine training program
  • Ability to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
