Chicago, Illinois, United States LEARN Charter School Network Full time

About LEARN Charter School Network

Founded in 2001, LEARN is a network of high-performing college preparatory, tuition-free public elementary and middle schools with the mission of providing children with the academic foundation and ambition to earn a college degree. There are currently 11 LEARN Schools serving approximately 4,100 students across Chicago, Waukegan, North Chicago, and Washington, D.C.

Our goal is to create an inclusive environment where staff members feel supported, respected, and valued. We foster collaboration among team members at each school and across the network to share ideas, solve problems, and innovate, ultimately driving our schools and students beyond expectations.

LEARN has received recognition for its efforts, including having one of its leaders recognized as the Principal of the Year by the Illinois Network of Charter Schools in 2022, and LEARN 9 Waukegan earning an Exemplary school designation by the Illinois State Board of Education. Additionally, we received a $7 million gift from Mackenzie Scott in recognition of our positive impact on education in Chicago.

Our mission remains clear: provide children with the academic foundation and ambition to earn a college degree. Currently, we are seeking hard-working and passionate professionals who are dedicated to transforming public education.

About the Opportunity

We understand that our Social Workers face unique challenges, but their work proves incredibly rewarding and worthwhile. At LEARN, colleagues are empathetic and encouraging, creating a supportive environment with resources for scholars, professional development, and internal transfer opportunities.

We wholeheartedly value staff appreciation, celebrating and promoting professional advancement, providing a yearly retention bonus, and offering other perks like gift cards. Our core values include setting high expectations for ourselves and scholars, bringing a high level of energy, and consistently maintaining a positive attitude.

Our implementation of a Multi-Tier System of Support (MTSS) across all campuses emphasizes that ALL scholars are capable of becoming expert learners. Staff and administrators continually evaluate how to best support and celebrate our diversity, benefiting ALL scholars' academic and social-emotional needs and creating learning environments that break down barriers.
