Job Summary:
The Personal Care Assistant/Caregiver plays a vital role in the lives of those who require assistance with daily living activities. This role involves providing both practical support and emotional companionship to individuals in their homes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with mobility, including support with walking, transfers, and helping them move safely around their home or environment.
- Assist clients with daily living activities (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide medication reminders.
- Assist with meal preparation, cooking, and feeding, ensuring the client's dietary needs are met.
- Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry, cleaning, and organizing to ensure a safe living environment.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to improve emotional and physical well-being.
- Help with transportation needs for appointments, errands, or social engagements.
- Monitor changes in the client's health or behavior and report any concerns.
- Ensure the client's environment is safe, clean, and conducive to their comfort and health.
Requirements:
- 2 years of previous experience in caregiving or a related field.
- CNA Certificate a plus.
- CPR Certification.
- Dementia/Alzheimer's experience a plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions, client tasks, and care plans.
- Physical ability to assist with mobility and perform tasks such as lifting or transferring clients.
- Current valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and drug testing.
