Wastewater Maintenance Operator

We are seeking a highly skilled Wastewater Maintenance Operator to join our team at the City of Winslow, AZ. As a key member of our Public Works Division, you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical and maintenance work in the operation, maintenance, and repair of wastewater treatment facilities and collection systems.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and maintain the performance of all equipment, gauges, and charts in the treatment plant and lift stations.
- Record and analyze statistical data concerning plant operations, including lab results and test data.
- Operate, start up, and shut down pumps, valves, and associated process equipment.
- Assist maintenance personnel with repairs and replacements of equipment as needed.
- Collect and analyze wastewater samples, and conduct tests as required by local, state, and federal regulations.
- Identify potential process and equipment problems, and relay to higher-level staff for corrective action.
- Perform necessary painting, yard work, janitorial, and housekeeping duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent, and one year of experience in wastewater utilities operations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess a Grade I Wastewater Treatment or Collection certification, or obtain within six months of employment.
- Valid Arizona driver's license, and Commercial Arizona driver's license within six months of employment.
The City of Winslow offers a comprehensive benefits package to full-time employees, including health care, dental, vision, retirement, and more. Part-time employees who work an average of 20 hours per week receive benefits on a pro-rated basis.
