Job Summary

The Associate Technical Sourcing Manager role is responsible for managing supplier interactions with M&A & R&D by identifying and mitigating sourcing risks, recommending suppliers for all phases of product development and product transfer, and tracking and managing improvements in procured component supply risk, quality, material cost, and response/lead time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage supplier interactions with M&A & R&D to identify and mitigate sourcing risks
  • Recommend suppliers for all phases of product development and product transfer
  • Track and manage improvements in procured component supply risk, quality, material cost, and response/lead time
  • Document and manage project requirements
  • Deliver phase gate requirements for ELT briefings
  • Ensure products are fully prepared to transition to post-production following necessary validation activities
  • Manage and coordinate sourcing project deliverables in support of product development
Requirements
  • Foundational project management skills
  • Demonstrates communication, leadership, and interpersonal and team building skills
  • Understands the power of influence to achieve results
  • Ability to meet customer internal customer needs through design and handoff
  • Technically oriented background
  • Possesses fundamental knowledge of negotiations
  • Familiar with the principles of lean manufacturing
Work Environment
  • Works remotely with occasional travel to CooperSurgical manufacturing locations and suppliers' sites as required
  • Interacts with domestic and international suppliers frequently
  • Travels frequently domestically and internationally as needed to support business requirements
  • Occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Prolonged sitting in front of a computer
Experience
  • Progressively responsible experience in materials management/purchasing
  • 1+ years' experience working in a highly regulated environment and proven familiarity with applicable regulations to include MDR and FDA
  • 2+ experience reading design files to include 2D and 3D models
  • 1+ years' experience working with ERP, inventory management within D365 or similar system software
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and teams
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering, supply chain management, or business analytics
