Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at The Steadman Clinic. As a key member of our orthopaedic surgery department, you will work closely with our experienced physicians to provide exceptional patient care and contribute to the development of evidence-based clinical protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with attending physicians to diagnose and treat orthopaedic sports medicine injuries and related illnesses in both clinical and surgical settings.
  • Perform procedures within the PA scope of practice as directed by the supervising physician, including first and second assisting responsibilities.
  • Assist in preoperative evaluation and education, and perform initial interviews and assessments of patients.
  • Review diagnostic data, obtain preoperative surgical consents, and prepare preoperative data sheets.
  • Coordinate schedules with operations managers and surgery schedulers, and assist with travel arrangements for international and out-of-town patients.
  • Manage prescription medication for the practice, perform therapeutic and diagnostic injections, and assist in data collection and therapeutic treatments for research studies.
  • Communicate with outside physicians, occupational therapists, and physical therapists regarding ongoing care.
  • Work with attending physicians and staff to plan daily schedules to maximize efficiency of physician and assistant resources.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university Physician Assistant program accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education.
  • Certification by the National Commission for Certified Physician's Assistants (NCCPA) required.
  • Registered and licensed by the Colorado Board of Medical Examiners.
  • Current DEA number required.
  • Current certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for healthcare providers required.
