Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at Frontier Management (OR). As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food according to recipes and production guidelines while adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cooking and Food Preparation: Cooks and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes.
  • Workstation Setup: Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment.
  • Ingredient Preparation: Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items.
  • Utensil Utilization: Safely utilizes a variety of utensils.
  • Equipment Operation: Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers.
  • Cooking Methods: Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods.
  • Food Presentation: Arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines.
  • Food Storage: Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures.
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation: Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Customer Service: Maintains excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards guests, residents, and co-workers.
  • Adherence to Policies: Adheres to Frontier Management (OR) safety policies and procedures, including proper food safety and sanitation.
  • Additional Duties: Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by the manager.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Experience as a cook or in a related role required. ServeSafe Certified, and LTC background preferred.
  • Knowledge: Proven knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage.
  • Math and Counting Skills: Demonstrates basic math and counting skills.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Physical Demands: Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 25 lbs.
