About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Nurse Specialist to join our team at Holly Hill Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.

Job Summary

The Mental Health Nurse Specialist will be responsible for providing direct patient care, conducting assessments, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes. You will also provide education and support to patients and their families, as well as participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, wound care, and other treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and mental health needs, identifying areas for improvement and developing targeted interventions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, taking into account patients' medical histories, social determinants, and cultural backgrounds
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to achieve optimal patient outcomes
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting healthy coping mechanisms and self-management skills
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for process improvements and contributing to evidence-based practice development

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's degree preferred
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina
  • One year of experience in mental health nursing, with a focus on adult or geriatric populations
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders

Salary and Benefits

This is a full-time position, offering a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a generous base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
