Job Summary

Virtua is seeking a skilled Medical Monitoring Specialist to join our team. This role involves continuously monitoring and interpreting ECG monitors under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Observe and interpret ECG monitors, identifying and responding to changes in patient rhythms.
  • Communicate with the healthcare team, patients, and family members to ensure effective care.
  • Document calculations and interpretations on required forms.
  • Demonstrate standard precautions and patient safety principles when working with equipment.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 months of previous experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of dysrhythmia and heart blocks, as well as SPO2 monitoring and alarm response.
  • Strong organizational and interprofessional skills.
  • Ability to determine appropriate courses of action in complex situations.

Education and Training:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be capable of completing a Basic Dysrhythmia course and passing the test for Telemetry Technicians.
