About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Process Engineer Team Lead to lead a small team of experts supporting the Department of the Navy's Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED) in Falls Church, VA. This role combines leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on involvement in reengineering and improving critical business processes that enhance BUMED's mission capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide strategic leadership and supervision to a team of business process engineers, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment with client objectives.
  2. Plan, coordinate, and oversee the day-to-day activities of assigned projects, ensuring all deliverables meet quality and timeliness standards.
  3. Identify and implement opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes.
  4. Manage the review, update, and documentation of major business processes (MBPs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring they align with best practices.
  5. Maintain and update SOPs and MBPs on the Navy Medicine SharePoint portal, ensuring accessibility and accuracy.
  6. Collaborate with stakeholders to track, manage, and review SOP and MBP change requests, documenting updates in quarterly reports.
  7. Review and update the Navy Medicine Entity Profile to reflect organizational changes and ensure compliance with Defense Health Agency (DHA) and Department of Navy (DON) audit requirements.
  8. Assist in the development and publication of quarterly newsletters providing SOP and MBP updates to BUMED employees.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Active Tier III Public Trust or Secret clearance.
  • Extensive familiarity with the Navy's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool, including its functionality and application in business processes.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in reviewing and documenting complex business processes, identifying internal controls, and implementing business process improvement plans.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Visio.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create and deliver effective business presentations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Desired Skills
  • Prior experience providing consulting services for audit support, including audit readiness and remediation.
  • Experience working with the Department of the Navy, particularly BUMED.
  • Relevant certifications, such as CDFM, CGFM, or PMP.
Work Environment

This position is primarily remote; however, the preferred candidate will be located in the northern Virginia area and available to attend occasional on-site meetings as needed to liaise with team members and stakeholders.
