Job Description

As an Assistant Superintendent, you will be responsible for assisting the superintendent in coordinating and supervising all construction activities. This includes directing field personnel to achieve project completion on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist the superintendent with coordination and supervision of all construction activities.
  • Direct field personnel to achieve project completion on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship.
  • Maintain construction schedules and identify potential problems.
  • Order materials and schedule inspections as necessary throughout the project.
  • Read and understand project plans and specifications.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other employees.
  • Prepare, schedule, and supervise all project work; close out projects.
  • Promote job site safety and encourage safe work practices.
  • Ensure all employees and contractors adhere to the company safety policy.
  • Maintain an organized job site, including the field office.
  • Demonstrate leadership characteristics.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Knowledge and Experience:
  • Knowledge of construction job-site management, construction industry, and safety practices.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to meet attendance schedules with dependability and consistency.
  • Displays strong written and oral communication skills and effective listening skills.
  • Analyzes problems and makes sound decisions in a timely manner based on objectives, risks, implications, and costs.
  • Tactful and mature demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well with diverse personalities.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management.
  • Minimum two years of successful construction experience.
  • Experience in scheduling, field supervision, quality control, and production of commercial construction.
  • OSHA certification.
  • CPR/First-Aid certification or ability to obtain within the first six months of employment.
Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum

This salary range is estimated based on industry standards and the level of experience required for the position.
