Blood Donation Nurse

Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) is seeking a skilled Blood Donation Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our blood donor center, you will be responsible for providing exceptional nursing care to donors and ensuring the highest level of safety and efficiency in our blood collection processes.
We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in nursing and a passion for delivering top-notch patient care. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Salary: $83,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience
About the Role:
This is a full-time opportunity that requires variable shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. You will work in a state-of-the-art blood donor center located within the MGH main campus and on bloodmobiles. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide competent nursing care to donors, prioritizing their comfort, safety, and well-being throughout the donation process
- Perform manual and automated blood collections while adhering to strict quality control standards
- Document donor information accurately and efficiently, utilizing electronic medical records systems
- Collaborate closely with medical professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes
Requirements:
- Current Massachusetts licensure as a Registered Nurse
- Current CPR certification
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a hospital or blood bank setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Donor service background, with experience working with diverse populations
- Previous charge nurse experience, with expertise in staff management and mentorship
