Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Reliability Engineering Lead to join our team at Vandenberg, CA. As a key member of our launch operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our launches.

Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Lead a team of engineers in promoting efficient and reliable operational processes at the launch site.">
  • Partner with individual contributors and leadership from Flight Reliability, Launch Reliability, and Launch Operations teams to ensure mission success.">
  • Develop, prioritize, and manage projects that maximize impact to the company.">
  • Mentor and technically develop all members of a multi-disciplinary team.">
  • Set clear and achievable goals and hold team members accountable for execution and continuous improvement in their area of ownership.">
  • Use continuous improvement to upgrade production controls currently in place and minimize the probability of errors.">
  • Use quantitative tools to verify the effectiveness of process changes and use that data to scale solutions for the entire company.">

Required Skills and Qualifications:

">

To be successful in this role, you will need:

">
  • ">
  • A Bachelor's degree in aerospace, electrical, manufacturing, mechanical, or materials engineering.">
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, or testing.">
  • 1+ years of experience leading a team or technical project.">
  • Prior experience in a leadership role, strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to work extended hours, weekends, and offsite as required.">
  • Dedication to adopting a Lean approach to quality without compromising safety or reliability.">
  • A Master's degree in engineering or a related discipline (preferred).">
  • Ability to pass Air Force background checks for Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg.">
  • Knowledge of quality tools such as Lean principles, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Metrology, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Control Plans, and various problem-solving approaches.">
