Vascular Imaging Specialist

As a Vascular Imaging Specialist at Jefferson Health, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients. Under the direction of a radiologist, you will utilize advanced ultrasound equipment to perform general and vascular examinations, producing accurate images for diagnostic purposes and interventional procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Exercise good judgment in ascertaining necessary measurements for the area being examined.
- Perform all computer processing for all ultrasound examinations.
- Deliver patient care and education before, during, and after diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Interact with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
- Perform vascular ultrasound procedures, including Carotid Duplex Ultrasounds, Pulse Volume Recordings, Peripheral Vascular Arterial studies, and Peripheral Vascular Venous Studies.
- Instruct patients regarding procedures to ensure cooperation and optimum test results.
- Follow prescribed safety standards in operating equipment.
- Maintain ultrasound and lab equipment and examination room in appropriate operating condition.
- Perform other related technologist duties as directed by the lead technologist, supervisor, or manager.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved RDMS program or current validated Registry from ARRT in Radiology Technology (R).
- Minimum two (2) years' experience as a cardiac sonographer; minimum one (1) year vascular experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Active RVT or RVS Registration.
- RDMS or CCI certification in echocardiography.
Conditions of Employment
- Meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI fingerprint-based federal criminal records check.
