Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Climate Control System Specialist to join our team at Johnson Controls. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to work on the installation, maintenance, and repair of building automation systems.

This role involves troubleshooting complex control systems, mentoring junior technicians, and providing training to customers on system operations. With a focus on safety and professionalism, this specialist plays a key role in ensuring optimal building performance through effective service and customer interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair building automation systems to improve energy efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Troubleshoot complex control systems malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of electronic or digital controls systems.
  • Mentor junior technicians on building automation activities and provide training to customers on system operations.
  • Consult with customers to identify their needs and provide solutions to optimize building performance.
  • Assist in the design and configuration of building control systems as defined by contract documents.
  • Compile job documentation, including certificates of completion and customer training forms.
  • Conduct self-study to improve and maintain technical proficiency in company product lines.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in commercial controls troubleshooting in the HVAC industry.
  • Vocational school program graduate or associate's degree in a technical field, or two years' experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to install and/or service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment.
  • Effective communication skills to represent Johnson Controls on customer sites.
  • Possesses the ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.
  • Demonstrate effective writing skills as well as understanding of programs and software applications.
  • Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and other building subsystems.

  • An estimated salary range of $60,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
