About the Role

The successful candidate will provide respiratory care to patients in varying states of health and illness by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating their respiratory plan of care. As an essential member of the healthcare team, they will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality respiratory care to patients in various settings, including inpatient and outpatient units.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' respiratory status and develop individualized plans of care to meet their unique needs.
  • Implement and evaluate the effectiveness of respiratory therapies, such as ventilation management and surfactant administration.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote self-care and independence.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy from a CoARC-accredited program.
  • Minimum 6 months of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Current Vermont State license and BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Able to administer surfactants to newborns and work with mechanical ventilation equipment.
  • Familiarity with Cardiac Dysrhythmia course and completion of STABLE training.
