About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Audit Senior Associate to join our team at Kabat, Schertzer, De La Torre, Taraboulos & Co. As a key member of our Assurance department, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality audit services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision: Instruct and oversee fellow A&A staff throughout engagements, broadening technical knowledge through review of complex client transactions.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and/or review financial statements, complete general audit procedures, and coordinate audit closing communications.
  • Technical Research: Research technical issues using online tools and resources.
  • Quality Control: Review work completed by staff and make recommendations regarding preparation and accuracy.
  • Client Management: Assist managers and partners in running client engagements from start to finish, including planning, executing, directing, completing projects, and managing to budget.
  • Communication and Client Satisfaction: Ensure complete client satisfaction through open communication, managing and meeting deadlines.
  • Professional Development: Work closely with partners, directors, senior managers, managers, senior associates, and associates on client management, professional development, and business development activities.
  • Complex Issue Resolution: Assist with resolving more complex issues and participate in client meetings, which may include leading client meetings with some clients.
  • Staff Supervision and Development: Supervise, train, and mentor associates and interns on audit projects and assess performance of staff for engagement reviews.
  • Continuing Education: Attend professional development and continuing education sessions on a regular basis.
Desired Credentials
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree with a major in accounting.
  • Professional Certifications: CPA certification or working towards certification required.
  • Experience: Experience in an Assurance department of a CPA firm working as a senior associate or performing senior associate responsibilities.
  • Technical Knowledge: Thorough understanding of accounting standards and common audit procedures and techniques.
  • Technical Proficiency: Technically proficient in Excel, general ledger packages, and computerized audit applications.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to problem-solve and think both creatively and logically, self-direct, and effectively organize, prioritize, and manage multiple engagements under tight deadlines.
  • Leadership and Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills fostering client and staff relationships.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Business Development: Ability to attract and develop profitable, sustainable client relationships.
