Physical Therapy Assistant

Vertis Therapy is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant for our Assisted Living facilities in Topeka, Kansas. Our company specializes in providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
- We offer 1:1 treatments and flexible scheduling.
The Physical Therapist Assistant performs physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. This role involves participating in an interdisciplinary team to provide support and information within the area of physical therapy.
Responsibilities- Provide physical therapy treatments to patients according to treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
- Assist the Physical Therapist with tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures.
- Observe, record, and report patient conditions, reactions, and responses related to treatment.
- Maintain daily records of treatments and document progress notes on patients as directed by the Physical Therapist.
- Collaborate with family members, physicians, and other healthcare professionals as necessary.
- Assist with department maintenance and equipment upkeep.
- Participate in in-service programs and meetings as assigned.
- Pursue continuing education opportunities to maintain clinical currency.
- Adhere to Vertis Therapy policies, state, federal, and professional standards.
- Attend staff meetings and other requested gatherings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- An Associate of Science degree in Physical Therapy Assistant or equivalent.
- A current license or eligibility to obtain a license in the state of practice.
- Preferred: at least one year of rehabilitation experience serving the same age/type of patient population.
- Active membership in the American Physical Therapy Association is a plus.
- Excellent communication, written, and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Adequate computer skills are required for job duties and documentation.
- The ability to follow directions and understand policies is crucial.
$45,000 - $65,000 per year, based on location and experience.
