Clinical Documentation Specialist

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Clinical Documentation Specialist to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. As a key member of our Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) team, you will play a critical role in improving health outcomes by ensuring accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation.
Job Description- Lead Clinical Documentation Improvement: Provide expert-level leadership in clinical documentation improvement, reviewing and assessing documentation for accuracy and completeness, and articulating recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with Providers: Communicate effectively with providers at all levels to clarify information and ensure documentation meets severity of illness and risk of mortality requirements.
- Education and Training: Develop and execute physician education strategies to improve clinical documentation, providing face-to-face educational opportunities and timely feedback on areas for improvement.
- Utilize CDI Technology: Ensure effective utilization of Optum CDI 3D Technology to document clarification activity and utilize only approved clarification forms.
- Experience: 5+ years acute hospital Clinical RN experience or medical graduate with CDI experience and CDI certification.
- Credentials: RN with BSN degree or medical graduate with CDI certification.
We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for career growth and development.
