We are seeking a skilled Precision Machinist Specialist to join our team in the Ops/VEM division. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for setting up and operating various machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments.

Salary:

The starting rate of pay for this position is $35.34/hour, increasing to $39.27/hour after one year of service.

Job Description:

This role involves laying out, machining, shaping, and fabricating castings, beams, plates, shafts, and other similar items. You will also set up, align, adjust, and operate various types of shop equipment, including milling machines, shaper machines, grinders, presses, boring mills, drilling, and more. Your tasks will include grinding, shaping, and forming new cutters or machines, sharpening and retempers drills, bits, cutter assemblies, and balance blade assemblies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years vocational training or equivalent and minimum three years of experience as a machinist
  • Pass written skills testing
  • Familiarity with air equipment repair work, saw, and machine tool use and maintenance
  • Able to work from blueprints and drawings
  • Possess a valid driver's license
