About Aequor:We are a leading educational institution in Illinois, committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Salary:$85,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Job Description:Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to identify students' academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other school staff.
- Provide individual and group counseling to students to address emotional, social, and behavioral concerns.
- Serve as a resource for teachers and school staff, offering strategies for classroom management and supporting students with special needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop interventions and strategies to support student well-being and academic achievement.
- Conduct crisis intervention and provide support to students experiencing mental health challenges.
- Advocate for students and help develop school policies to promote mental health awareness and inclusion.
- Provide training to staff and parents on mental health issues, behavioral management techniques, and educational strategies.
- Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
- Valid School Psychologist license in the state of Illinois (PEL certification with a School Psychologist endorsement).
- Strong knowledge of psychological testing, assessment tools, and interpretation of results.
- Experience working with children and adolescents in educational settings.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families.
- Knowledge of special education laws, 504 plans, and IEP processes.
- Crisis intervention training and experience in a school environment is preferred.
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (or other languages) is a plus.
- Knowledge of social-emotional learning (SEL) programs and initiatives.
