We are seeking a talented Director of Clinical Excellence to join our team at St. David's Medical Center, a 435-bed facility offering specialized care in neurology, neurosurgery, cardiac services, bariatric surgery, orthopedics, maternity and newborn services, and rehabilitation.
Job SummaryThe Director of Clinical Excellence will be responsible for promoting innovation and excellence in nursing practice throughout the organization. This role will oversee the Magnet Program, ensuring that it is deeply ingrained in the organization's culture through education, consultation, and coordination with leadership.
- Develop and implement strategies to foster innovation and excellence in nursing practice.
- Collaborate with leadership to embed the professional practice model into clinical practice and maintain shared governance and council structure.
- Mentor clinical staff in leadership skills at the unit and council levels.
- Provide education consistent with policies, procedures, and standards of practice related to new process implementation.
- Serve as a liaison between leadership, outside certifying organizations, staff, physicians, and the community.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 5 years of nursing experience with a track record of developing, implementing, and evaluating new programs and processes.
- Prior management or project management experience is required.
- Experience in a Magnet-accredited organization or the Magnet accreditation process is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with research translation and evidence-based nursing practice.
