Job Overview

This Adjunct Faculty Member role involves teaching both online/hybrid and in-person classes on a quarterly basis for the Medical Assisting and Medical Office Administration programs at our Lonas campus in Knoxville, TN.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach effectively conducts online lectures, laboratory sessions, and/or clinical courses as required.
  • Assist in implementing College policies, objectives, and functions in accordance with South College's philosophy.
  • Promptly grade assignments, projects, skill assessments, competency evaluations/mastery of competencies in the clinical lab, and other tasks.
  • Facilitate student connections with relevant campus and community resources.
  • Aid in registration, recruitment, and retention efforts, ensuring thorough management of all required tasks.
  • Support the program director with accreditation-related tasks such as accreditation reports, self-studies, and site visits when requested.
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must hold a satisfactory bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline and possess a certified license in Medical Assisting.

  • Understanding of educational theory and techniques.
  • Prior experience instructing in any medical assisting program and/or working as a medical assistant.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing technology for instructional purposes.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Dedication to fostering student achievement and fostering an inclusive learning atmosphere.
  • Preference will be given to those with a proven record of excellence in teaching at the postsecondary or higher education level.
Estimated Salary

$45,000 - $60,000 per year based on qualifications and experience.
