Job Summary

The Grant Award Specialist II will play a critical role in identifying, developing, and facilitating major grant proposals to secure external funding from federal, state, and local agencies, corporations, foundations, and other funding sources. This position will oversee awarded grant projects throughout the complete grant lifecycle, ensuring timely and accurate completion of objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and monitor potential funding opportunities, serving as a primary resource for grant information.
  • Develop, manage, and evaluate business plans to increase grant funding, prioritizing sequencing based on strategic plan needs.
  • Assure pre-award grant objectives are met accurately and timely, including preparing and negotiating awards and subawards, serving as a grant writer as needed, and providing guidance on compliance-related matters.
  • Assure award and post-award grant objectives are met accurately and timely, including reviewing and approving grant expenditures, ensuring adherence to sponsor guidelines, and monitoring active grant awards and subawards for accurate and timely spend.
  • Assure closeout grant objectives are met accurately and timely, including coordinating with project directors to ensure timely spend, monitoring grants past the performance period, and filing required close-out reports with funders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree (Required) Combines with 5 years demonstrated experience in managing grants throughout the project life cycle.
  • Excellent attention to detail, ability to mentor grant team members, and proficiency with grant software, spreadsheets, and data management systems.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, ability to develop and build relationships with funders, and impeccable ability to prioritize tasks and contribute to a healthy, productive work environment.
